M.Sc. thesis project:

  • Implemented nested isosurface visualization with variable transparency for medical data.
  • Developed of a viewpoint-aware “glass brain” rendering of the cerebral cortex to serve as context.
  • Both modules were implemented in C++ and GLSL, and integrated into OpenWalnut.
  • Presented my results at Visual Computing for Biology and Medicine 2011 and BioVis 2011.

B.Sc. thesis project:

  • RAMSIS is a 3D CAD manikin that simulates vehicle occupants and analyzes the ergonomics and safety of vehicle interiors. It is used by the German automotive industry.
  • Developed an algorithm to merge triangulated 3D meshes.
  • Merged the meshes of manikins in multiple different poses to determine required space for safe and comfortable vehicle operation.

Mentored B.Sc. student’s thesis project:

  • Mentored my student in understanding the distributed data streaming and rendering pipeline.
  • Discussed advantages and disadvantages of potential underlying data structures with my student.
  • Guided my student in the development of a view-dependent dynamic scheduling system.
